A true icon of the '80s: the Sony Walkman WM-D6C, beloved for its high-quality recording and playback capabilities. This model, introduced in 1984, is considered one of the most advanced portable cassette players of its time. Thanks to features like Dolby B/C noise reduction and Quartz Capstan Servo, this Walkman offered studio quality in a pocket-sized format back then. Today, it is not only a technical masterpiece but also an extremely rare collectible that deserves a place in any serious vintage audio collection. - Condition: Gold - The housing is in beautiful condition with minimal signs of use. - The buttons show slight signs of use appropriate for the age of the device. - The device plays cassettes correctly (fast forward and rewind also work). - Recording function not tested: This aspect cannot be guaranteed and could be checked during any service. For optimal performance and years of use, we recommend a professional service check. Details: - This model is extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors, especially in this cosmetically excellent condition. - Dolby B/C noise reduction ensures crystal clear audio playback. - Works with included original 6V EU plug. - Including original Sony leather protective case for safe transport and storage. Important to know: Although the Walkman can also operate on AA batteries, it often happens that it functions less reliably on batteries alone. The device always works with the included 6V plug. The three metal connection pieces inside may need to be cleaned or slightly bent for a better connection. At this moment, I dare not do anything to avoid damage. The video shows that the Walkman is working on batteries, but keep in mind that this is not always the case consistently. So far, it does not work on batteries 9 out of 10 times! Maybe it is easy to fix, and maybe a lot needs to be done here, but I cannot say anything about that. The device is therefore primarily offered as a collector's item and not as a daily workhorse. A service is recommended to ensure that it is back in top shape. "With its unique combination of advanced technology, iconic design, and rarity, the Sony WM-D6C is a must-have for any vintage audio enthusiast. A true showcase piece from the heyday of the cassette! When you purchase the walkman, of course, make sure you also have well-functioning cassettes."
