Transparency and Professionalism
As a professional webshop, we find transparency extremely important. We want our customers and suppliers to understand why we charge certain purchasing prices. Running an international webshop entails various costs, including:
- Sales tax : We pay sales tax on European orders every quarter. This is 21% of the profit made from a product.
- Income tax : At the end of the year we pay income tax (Unseend is a sole proprietorship).
- Platform costs : In addition to our own webshop, we also sell via Etsy and eBay, which entails additional costs. This is between 12.5% and 25%.
- Advertising costs : To reach our target group, we invest in various marketing activities.
- Sales risk : We bear the risk that items will remain in our stock longer before they are sold. Sometimes packages get lost and the insurance company does not always reimburse.
- Fixed costs : To offer a wide range, we rent multiple storage spaces and have costs such as software, website hosting, packaging materials, and so on.
- Business risk : Because we sell vintage/second-hand products, we cannot insure the storage against fire or theft. We also have to keep good records because of the European margin scheme.
- Working hours : Testing, cleaning, photographing and placing products on our web shops takes a lot of time.
Our Purchasing Strategy
We focus on collectibles and unique vintage items that collectors or gift seekers cannot easily find. Our purchasing strategy is based on an honest and professional approach. We use an average purchase price of 20% of the expected sales price. This ensures that we can cover our costs and at the same time offer good service and quality.
What are we looking for?
We are always looking for beautiful and unique vintage cameras, including:
- Cameras : Sony, Canon, Olympus, Ricoh, Leica, Nikon, Minolta, Pentax
- Digital Cameras : Early digital cameras from brands such as Canon, Sony and Nikon
We do not purchase broken or defective products. We take an honest and professional approach to determining the value of your items. We would like to hear your selling price and will then see if we can pay for it. If not, we will make an offer on your items.
Why Sell to Unsend?

How does the sales process work?
- Contact : Email business@unseend.com and upload photos of your items and indicate your asking price for the objects. We prefer to purchase multiple items and large collections.
- Assessment : We assess the condition and investigate whether we can pay the requested amount. If not, we will make a substantiated offer.
- Shipping label : If approved, we will send you a shipping label with insurance. For large collections we will come and collect the objects.
- Shipping : Send the items to us with the shipping label.
- Payment : After receiving and checking the items, we will deposit the agreed amount via PayPal or bank transfer.
